Hihibaru saw a masked man near a signal fire and believes he may reappear if you signal to him the same way.

Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest Highbridge Times, and have reached level 25.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Hihibaru in Eastern Thanalan to begin the quest.

Use the Smouldering Coal

Go east across the bridge, then make your way northeast to the quest destination. Target the purple glowing Destination and use the Smouldering Coal from the Key Items section of your inventory, or from the item icon next to the quest name in your list of active quests. Kill the Corpse Brigade Footsoldier that attacks.

Present the Ward of the Destroyer to Hihibaru

Go southwest and cross the bridge. Talk to Hihibaru and hand over the Ward of the Destroyer and complete the quest.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Hihibaru to accept the next quest: On to Little Ala Mhigo.
