A guide to unlocking The Hunt, in which you defeat powerful marks to receive tomestones and other rewards.

How to Unlock The Hunt in A Realm Reborn Areas

Reach Second Lieutenant Rank in Your Grand Company

Before you can unlock The Hunt, you must rank up in your Grand Company to Second Lieutenant. Please see How to Rank Up in Your Grand Company for instructions.

Reach Level 50

In addition to reaching Second Lieutenant rank, you also need to be level 50 before you can unlock The Hunt.

Complete the Quest "Let the Hunt Begin"

After you achieve the rank of Second Lieutenant (see above) and reach level 50, talk to the Lieutenant at your Grand Company headquarters to start the blue quest "Let the Hunt Begin". Talk to the Hunt Billmaster in your Grand Company headquarters to complete the quest.

A Realm Reborn Hunt Mark Bills

You can check on the Hunt Board in your Grand Company headquarters to receive hunt mark bills, which will be placed in the Key Items section of your inventory. Visit FFXIV Hunts Path Finder: A Realm Reborn for help locating the hunt marks. The enemies from your hunt mark bills will have a Mandragora symbol (A Mandragora symbol from Final Fantasy XIV.) over their heads, and you can also view a list of the hunt marks in your current area if you go to Main Menu > Recommendations and choose "The Hunt" from the dropdown menu. If you defeat the requested number of hunt marks, you will automatically receive the specified number of Allied Seals/Gil.

A Realm Reborn Elite Marks

Please visit Cable Monkey's Hunt Maps to see the locations where A Realm Reborn A Rank and S Rank elite marks can appear. You can find out more about these elite marks and their lore by talking to Hunter-scholars in A Realm Reborn field areas in The Black Shroud, Thanalan, La Noscea, Coerthas Central Highlands, and Mor Dhona.

How to Unlock the Hunt in Heavensward Areas (Centurio Clan Hunts)

Let the Clan Hunt Begin

After you reach level 53 and have completed the quest "Let the Hunt Begin" (see above), talk to Aytienne in The Forgotten Knight in Ishgard to start the blue quest "Let the Clan Hunt Begin". Then go upstairs and go outside and check on the Clan Hunt Board to complete the quest.

Better Bill Hunting

After you reach level 56 and have completed the previous quest, talk to Eustacia outside of the Forgotten Knight in Ishgard to start the blue quest "Better Bill Hunting". Then check on the Clan Hunt Board to complete the quest.

Top Marks

After you reach level 59 and have completed the previous quest, talk to Yloise in Idyllshire to start the blue quest "Top Marks". Then go to the Forgotten Knight in Idyllshire and talk to Ardolain, then go upstairs and go outside and check on the Clan Hunt Board to complete the quest.

Elite and Dangerous

After you reach level 60 and have completed the previous quest, talk to Ardolain in the Forgotten Knight to start the blue quest "Elite and Dangerous", then go upstairs and go outside and check on the Clan Hunt Board to complete the quest.

Heavensward Hunt Mark Bills

You can check on the Clan Hunt Board outside of the Forgotten Knight in Ishgard to receive hunt mark bills, which will be placed in the Key Items section of your inventory. Visit FFXIV Hunts Path Finder: Heavensward for help locating the hunt marks. How to Unlock the Hunt in Stormblood Areas (Veteran Clan Hunts)

One-Star, Two-Star, Three-Star, and Elite Veteran Clan Hunt

To unlock Stormblood Hunt Mark Bills, You can talk to Estrild in the Shiokaze Hostelry in Kugane to do the following quests as you level up:

  • Level 61: One-Star Veteran Clan Hunt (requires "Elite and Dangerous")
  • Level 63: Two-Star Veteran Clan Hunt
  • Level 66: One-Star Veteran Clan Hunt
  • Level 70: Elite Veteran Clan Hunt

Stormblood Hunt Mark Bills

You can check on the Clan Hunt Board outside of Shiokaze Hostelry in Kugane or the Clan Hunt Board in Rhalgr's Reach to receive hunt mark bills, which will be placed in the Key Items section of your inventory. How to Unlock the Hunt in Shadowbringers Areas (Clan Nutsy Hunts)

Nuts To You

After you complete the main scenario quest "Travelers of Norvrandt", speak to the Hume Lout in the Crystarium near The Pendants Aethernet Shard to start the quest "Nuts To You". Then use an Aethernet Shard or the main Crystarium Aetheryte to go to the Temenos Rookery Aethernet Shard and talk to Halldor, then talk to Xylle to complete the quest.

Two Nuts Too Nutty, How Do You Like Three Nuts, Too Many Nutters

To unlock the remaining Shadowbringers Hunt Mark Bills, You can talk to Halldor near the Temenos Rookery in the Crystarium to do the following quests as you level up:

  • Level 73: Two Nuts Too Nutty (requires "Nuts to You")
  • Level 76: How Do You Like Three Nuts
  • Level 80: Too Many Nutters

Shadowbringers Hunt Mark Bills

You can check on the Nuts Board near Temenos Rookery in the Crystarium or the Nuts Board near the Mainstay Aethernet Shard in Eulmore to receive hunt mark bills, which will be placed in the Key Items section of your inventory. Visit FFXIV Hunts Path Finder: Shadowbringers for help locating the hunt marks. The enemies from your hunt mark bills will have a Mandragora symbol (A Mandragora symbol from Final Fantasy XIV.) over their heads, and you can also view a list of the hunt marks in your current area if you go to Main Menu > Recommendations and choose "The Hunt" from the dropdown menu. If you defeat the requested number of hunt marks, you will automatically receive the specified number of Sacks of Nuts/Gil/Experience points.

How to Unlock the Hunt in Endwalker Areas (Guildship Hunts)

The Hunt for Specimens

After you complete the main scenario quest "Old Sharlayan, New to You", speak to the Diminutive Gleaner in Old Sharlayan to start the quest "The Hunt for Specimens". Then use an Aethernet Shard or the main Old Sharlayan Aetheryte to go to the Scholar's Harbor Aethernet Shard and talk to Northota to complete the quest.

That Specimen Came from the Moon, A Hunt for the Ages, Perfect Specimens

To unlock the remaining Endwalker Hunt Mark Bills, You can talk to Northota near the Scholar's Harbor Aethernet Shard in Old Sharlayan to do the following quests as you level up:

  • Level 83: That Specimen Came from the Moon (requires "The Hunt for Specimens")
  • Level 89: A Hunt for the Ages
  • Level 90: Perfect Specimens

Endwalker Hunt Mark Bills

You can check on the Guildship Hunt Board near the Scholar's Harbor Aethernet Shard or the Guildship Hunt Board near the Mehryde's Meyhane Aethernet Shard in Radz-at-Han to receive hunt mark bills, which will be placed in the Key Items section of your inventory. The enemies from your hunt mark bills will have a Mandragora symbol (A Mandragora symbol from Final Fantasy XIV.) over their heads, and you can also view a list of the hunt marks in your current area if you go to Main Menu > Recommendations and choose "The Hunt" from the dropdown menu. If you defeat the requested number of hunt marks, you will automatically receive the specified number of Sacks of Nuts/Gil/Experience points.
