How to Farm Grand Company Seals

A guide to the easiest ways to farm Grand Company Seals quickly at all levels.

Introduction

After you reach a certain point in the story, you can join a Grand Company. In order to rank up in your GC, you will need Grand Company Seals. This guide lists the different ways to earn GC seals.

Use The Hunting Log if You're a Low Rank

After you join a Grand Company, the Hunting Log is unlocked. It can be found in Main Menu > Logs > Hunting Log. In the Hunting Log, select the icon for your Grand Company to display the list of hunt marks. You will receive a reward of Grand Company Seals for each of these hunt marks that you defeat.

You will need to complete at least rank 1 and 2 of the Grand Company hunting log to rank up in your Grand Company, so it's worthwhile to earn GC Seals this way.

Some of the hunt marks can only be found in dungeons. For more information about where to find the dungeon hunt marks, read the Grand Company rank up guide.

Use Expert Delivery if You're a High Rank

If you have ranked up to at least Sergeant Second Class, you can talk to the Personnel Officer at your Grand Company to choose delivery missions, then go to the Expert Delivery tab. Be sure to change the dropdown to say "Hide Gear Set Items". Then you will see a list of blue, green, and purple gear in your inventory that hasn't been registered to a gear set, if any. You can then turn in these gear items to receive Seals.

The easiest way to farm seals using Expert Delivery is to spend some of your Seals to buy Ventures from the Quartermaster in your Grand Company headquarters, then send your Retainers on Quick Exploration missions. Your retainers will often bring back blue or green gear, which you can turn in with Expert Deliveries to get more seals. Even if you spend some of these seals on Ventures to keep sending your retainers on Quick Exploration missions, you will still end up with a surplus of Seals that you can use to rank up further.

FATEs

After you join a Grand Company, you will earn GC Seals whenever you complete a FATE.

Roulettes

Leveling Roulette and Guildhest Roulette award Company Seals.

To unlock Leveling Roulette, you have to progress through the main story until you have completed The Tam-Tara Deepcroft dungeon. You can then select Leveling Roulette in Main Menu > Duty > Duty Finder.

To unlock Guildhest Roulette, you need to complete one of the following sets of quests, depending on where you started the game.

  • If Gridania is your starting city, go to the Central Shroud and complete the blue quest "Leves of Bentbranch", then complete the blue quest "Simply the Hest (Gridania)".
  • If Limsa Lominsa is your starting city, go to Middle La Noscea and complete the blue quest "Leves of Swiftperch", then complete the blue quest "Simply the Hest (Limsa Lominsa)".
  • If Ul'dah is your starting city, go to Western Thanalan and complete the blue quest "Leves of Horizon", then complete the blue quest "Simply the Hest (Ul'dah)".

Guildhest Roulette can then be selected in Main Menu > Duty > Duty Finder.

Supply and Provisioning Missions

If you have unlocked any crafter or gatherer classes, you can talk to the Personnel Officer at your Grand Company headquarters to see a list of Supply and Provisioning missions. This list is also available from any location via Main Menu > Duty > Timers. You can craft or gather materials (or buy them from the marketboard) and turn them in to receive Seals. This also has the additional benefit of giving you experience points in the corresponding crafter or gatherer class. You receive a greater reward for turning in high-quality items.

Grand Company Leves

Certain Levemetes give Levequests that award Grand Company Seals. They can be found in the following locations:

  • Immortal Flame Levemetes: Eastern Thanalan, Southern Thanalan, Coerthas Central Highlands, Mor Dhona
  • Maelstrom Levemetes: Lower La Noscea, Western La Noscea, Coerthas Central Highlands, Mor Dhona
  • Twin Adder Levemetes: East Shroud, South Shroud, Coerthas Central Highlands, Mor Dhona

Priority Seal Allowance or Seal Sweetener

You can temporarily increase the number of Grand Company Seals you earn from all of the above methods by using a Priority Seal Allowance or the Seal Sweetener Free Company action.

Priority Seal Allowances can only be obtained from the Squadron missions "Primal Recon" and "Stronghold Assault". Squadrons are unlocked when you reach the rank of Second Lieutenant in your Grand Company.

The Seal Sweetener Free Company action can be purchased from the OIC Quartermaster in your Grand Company if your Free Company is rank 5 or higher, or you can craft Seal Sweetener. To craft it, an Alchemist of level 50 or higher can craft a Grade 1 Wheel of Company, or you can use the Schematic Board in the Free Company Workshop to unlock the Aetherial Wheel Prototype II or Aetherial Wheel Prototype V, then craft the wheel.

Then you will need to place a Wheel Stand in your FC house. Wheel Stands can be purchased from Housing Merchants in residential areas, or you can use the Schematic Board to unlock the Wheel Stand Prototypes, then craft them in the Company Workshop.

Place the Wheel of Company in the Wheel Stand and wait for it to be primed, then with the primed wheel in your inventory, use the Wheel Stand to convert the primed wheel into Seal Sweetener.
