A guide to the "Shark Attack" Critical Encounter on the Occult Crescent: South Horn.

The Shark Attack Critical Encounter occurs in the northern part of the map, at (X:19.1, Y:4.5).
How to Defeat Nymian Petalodus in "Shark Attack"
Marine Mayhem inflicts Dropsy, a damage-over-time debuff, on all participants. It can be cured with Esuna.
Sharks will appear in the water around the edge of the area. Each one will do a cone attack, one after the other, going clockwise or counterclockwise. Stand next to the shark that the first cone attack marker is coming from, then when that cone attack goes off, move toward the shark that is doing the next cone attack, and so on, until all the cone attacks have ended.
When the boss casts Dive, it dives into the water and starts swimming around the area. Three Petalodus Progenies appear in the area. Tanks should make sure to draw enmity, and all participants should be sure to attack and try to defeat the three sharks. Meanwhile, markers will appear on the area. There will be a moving marker, and at each location where the moving marker stops, there will be a stationary marker with three arrows pointing down. Remember the order in which these stationary markers appeared. The boss will land at each one, in order, and perform a circle attack centered on that marker that covers a large part of the area. Stay far away from each of these markers in the order that they appeared. The boss will continue to perform these circle attacks until you have defeated the three sharks.
Open water places circle markers with arrows. Repeated circle attacks will occur, starting where the initial attack markers were and moving slowly in the direction of the arrows. At the same time, sharks will appear around the area and perform consecutive cone attacks like before. Move in the direction that the cone attacks are occuring while also dodging the moving circle attacks.
When the boss casts Hydrocleave, get behind it, because it will perform a cone attack in front of it, but the attack marker only appears for a short time, just before the attack.
A moving marker will appear on the area, indicating the sequential jumping circle attacks, but this time, the boss itself does not perform the attacks. The boss will cast Hydrocleave again, but you will have to dodge the other sharks' jumping circle attacks at the same time.
Rewards from Shark Attack
Upon completing Shark Attack, there is a chance of receiving "Notes on the Nymian Petalodus", which adds an entry to your Occult Record if used in the Occult Crescent.
