Starting the Quest

Talk to Nidhana in Thavnair to begin the quest.

Speak with Nidhana

Go northeast to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. Talk to Nidhana to proceed. Defeat the three Tempered Imperials that appear.

Speak with Nidhana Again

Talk to Nidhana to proceed.

Speak with Nidhana Yet Again

Go northeast to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. Talk to Nidhana to proceed.

Stand Guard for Nidhana

Go northeast to the quest icon in the minimap. Check on the sparkling Destination. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Nidhana Once More

Talk to Nidhana to proceed.

Speak with Nidhana Once More Again

You can teleport to The Great Work if you wish, or just go west to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. Nidhana is in the building south of the Aetheryte. Talk to her to complete the quest.

Aether Current Quest

Completing the quest "Shadowed Footsteps" will unlock the blue quest Alchemist or Dancer in Thavnair. Completing "Alchemist or Dancer" will attune you to an Aether Current.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Nidhana to accept the next quest: A Boy's Errand. There will be a cutscene.
