Sohm Al - Dungeon Guide

A guide to the 4-player dungeon Sohm Al, from Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward.

Special Character in Duty Support

Sohm Al can be completed with a special character if you use the Duty Support system.

How to Unlock

The Sohm Al 4-player dungeon is unlocked by the level 53 Main Scenario Quest Mourn in Passing.

Go to the First Boss

In the first part of the dungeon, a Drakespur will appear, and will create motionless Pollen Clusters throughout the area. These Pollen Clusters will explode if players are nearby, inflicting a stacking Poison status that can be removed with Esuna or Antidote. Be sure to kill the Drakespur quickly. Ranged attacks can destroy Pollen Clusters without the risk of getting hit with Poison.

Kill the Blooming Ochus and Flying Killers to open the vines to the next area. Two Drakespurs appear in this area, so get rid of them quickly, and destroy any Pollen Clusters left behind. Kill the Flying Killers, the Abalathian Vulture, and the Blooming Ochus to open the way to the first boss.

Raskovnik

Bloody Caress is an attack on the player with the highest enmity.

Acid Rain is a circle attack on all players. Move out of the circle to avoid it.

Phytobeam is a line attack from the boss at a random player.

Sweet Scent summons Dravanian Hornets, and marks a player with a prey marker. Kill the Hornets to prevent Raskovnik from eating them, which gives Raskovnik a Damage Up buff.

When Raskovnik casts Floral Trap, the player marked with the prey marker (and any other players nearby) will be pulled toward Raskovnik and temporarily stunned. Raskovnik then casts Flower Devour, a circle attack centered on itself. The stunned player should run away from Raskovnik as soon as they can move again.

Leafstorm damages all players.

Go to the Second Boss

Proceed to the next area. An untargetable dragon will create attack with fireballs, then the Pyrodragon will eventually land. Attack it, and when it reaches 50% health, it will fly away and the path to the next area will open.

Farther in the dungeon, an untargetable dragon will create Ice Boulders, which will spawn Glacier Sprites. Kill the Ice Boulders to prevent more Glacier Sprites from appearing. The Cryodragon will appear from above. Attack it, and when it reaches 50% health, it will fly away and the path to the next area will open.

Go through the next area to reach the second boss, Myath.

Myath

Third Leg Forward damages all players in front of the boss, so the tank should turn the boss to face away from the others, and other players should avoid being in front of the boss.

Overbite is an attack on the player with the highest enmity.

Razor Scales is a large cone attack at a random player.

Primordial Roar summons untargetable blue and orange slimes and damages all players.

When Myath uses Ensnare, he eats one of the slimes, then casts Mad Dash. If he ate a blue slime, a random player will be marked with a circle. This player should move away from the others to avoid hitting them with the circle. If he ate an orange slime, a random player will be marked with a stack marker. The other players should stack together with the marked player to share the damage.

Later in the battle, Primordial Roar will also summon a large green Chyme of the Mountain that starts casting The Last Song. Kill the Chyme of the Mountain before it can finish casting this attack.

Go to the Final Boss

Proceed to the next area. Kill the dragons to remove the boulder in the way. A Deep-Mountain Wyvern will be behind the boulder. Kill it, continue on and kill the Ergodragon. The Cryodragon and Pyrodragon from earlier will appear, and will create Ice Boulders and fireballs at the same time. Avoid the attacks and kill the Ice Boulders, and after a while, the Wounded Cryodragon and Wounded Pyrodragon will land. Defeat them and move on. There are two chests to the east of the stairs leading up to the round platform.

Tioman

Abyssic Buster is a large cone attack aimed at the player with the highest enmity. The tank should turn the boss to face away from the other players, and other players should avoid being in front of the boss.

Chaos Blast is a small circle attack followed by line attacks radiating from the circle.

Comet will mark two players. These players should move to the edge of the area, because boulders will appear where the players were, each of which does a proximity attack that players should move away from.

Right Wing of Injury and Left Wing of Tragedy

At 50% health, Tioman will become invulnerable, and the Right Wing of Injury and the Left Wing of Tragedy will appear. Focus all attacks on the wings.

During this phase, a random player will periodically be marked with Heavensfall. This player should move away from other players, because a cluster of circle attacks will land where the marked player was.

Tioman will receive a stacking Damage Up buff during this phase that will increase until the wings are defeated.

Tioman will begin periodically attacking with Dark Star, an attack that damages all players.

After the Wings

After you defeat the wings, the Comet attack will now mark 3 players instead of 2. These players should move to the edge of the area to drop the boulders' proximity attacks there.

Completing the Quest

Defeating Tioman will complete one of the quest objectives for the Main Scenario Quest Sohm Al.
