Wait at the Designated Location

Go northeast to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. There will be a glow around the Destination, indicating an instanced battle. Check on the Destination and there will be a cutscene, and then the battle will ensue.

Solo Duty: The Will of the Moon

Phase 1

Dispelling Wind is a line attack. Step out of the line attack marker to avoid it.

Several untargetable Dotharli Chuluu will appear around the edge and cast Epigraph, which places grid line attack markers on the area. Move to a safe spot to avoid the attack.

This phase will continue until you bring Sadu's health down to 0. She will then resume the battle with three stacks of Burning Soul status.

Phase 2

When Sadu casts Shattered Star, floating rods will appear, and each will cast Whispers of Lives Past, which places a donut attack marker around each rod. Find a safe spot that isn't covered by any of the donut attack markers to avoid this attack.

You will also have to avoid Sadu's Dispelling Wind line attack throughout this phase.

This phase continues until you bring Sadu's health to 0. She will resume the battle with 2 stacks of Burning Soul status.

Phase 3

Sadu will cast The Stone Speaks, which summons three Khun Shavar. Do not try to destroy the Khun Shavar, because doing so will only briefly disable them before Sadu revives them by casting The Stone Speaks again.

The Khun Shavar will go to the edges of the area and cast Ancient Blizzard, which places large cone attack markers on the area. Quickly go to a safe spot to avoid this attack.

The Khun Shavar will then each cast Tornado, a circle attack centered on you. Move away from the circle attack markers to avoid the attack.

You will also have to avoid Sadu's Dispelling Wind line attack throughout this phase.

This phase continues until you bring Sadu's health to 0. She will resume the battle with 1 stack of Burning Soul status.

Phase 4

Sadu becomes invincible and begins casting Falling Dusk. If you do not defeat Sadu before she finishes casting Falling Dusk, you will fail the duty. To remove Sadu's invincibility, you must destroy the two Stellar Chuluu.

The Stellar Chuluu will periodically cast Epigraph, laser line attacks aimed at you. Move off of the line attack markers to avoid this.

She will also summon Shattered Star rods that cast Whispers of Lives Past, placing donut attack markers around each rod. There are fewer rods than in the earlier phase of the battle. Find a safe spot that is not in any of the donut attack markers to avoid this attack.

As soon as you have destroyed the two Stellar Chuluu, Sadu will stop casting Falling Dusk and will no longer be invincible. She will not try to cast Falling Dusk again, so there is no need to hurry. She will go back to her attack pattern from the first phase of the battle, where untargetable Stellar Chuluu will appear at the edges and cast Epigraph, a grid line attack, while Sadu periodically casts Dispelling Wind, a line attack.

This phase continues until you bring Sadu's health to 0. She will resume the battle with 10 stacks of Burning Soul status.

Phase 5

Sadu will create a meteor, and you have 60 seconds to defeat her, or you will fail the duty. The Meteor gauge will show you how much longer you have. Focus all attacks on Sadu and ignore any additional enemies that appear. During this phase, there will be a combination of attacks from previous phases of the battle.

This phase continues until you bring Sadu's health to 0. There will be a cutscene.

Phase 6

If you or Hien are defeated during this phase, you will have to start over from the beginning, including the battle with Sadu. The battle will not begin until you attack the enemy.

Your hotbar/crossbar is replaced with a small number of actions. Stone IV of the Seventh Dawn is a single-target attack. Aero II of the Seventh Dawn is a single-target attack that inflicts a temporary damage-over-time status to the enemy. Cure II of the Seventh Dawn heals the target's HP. Aetherwell restores 5000 MP (half of your MP bar). Sort Pet Hotbar allows you to change the order of these actions.

Use Aero II on Magnai, then use Stone IV of the Seventh Dawn on Magnai repeatedly. If the damage-over-time status that you inflicted on Magnai with Aero II wears off, be sure to use Aero II again to reapply it. If your MP bar is half empty or lower, use Aetherwell to replenish it. Aetherwell takes 60 seconds to recharge, so be sure to only use it when your MP are low.

Violent Earth is three circle attacks in a row. Quickly move off of the circles to avoid the attack. Be sure not to stand too close to Hien to avoid hitting him with this attack.

Magnai will sometimes cast Wind Chisel, a large number of cone attacks in your direction. Step off of the cone attack markers to avoid this attack. You can keep Magnai between you and Hien to prevent Magnai from hitting Hien with this attack.

Keep an eye on Hien's health. Use Cure II on him to restore his HP. You may sometimes be prompted to see to his wounds; be sure to use Cure II on him at those times.

Magnai will summon a number of Scale of the Father axes in the area. Hien will be standing on a circle attack marker that is centered on the middle axe. Destroy that axe to keep Hien safe from the attack, and be sure to also stand in the safe spot that is created when you destroy that axe.

During the battle, Magnai will cast Tomahawk, a high-damage attack on Hien. Make sure to use Cure II on Hien both before and after this attack.

A short while later, Magnai will cast Scale of the Father, but the axes will become much harder to defeat. Wait for Hien to place an arrow on the field, and stand where that arrow is pointing. Continue attacking Magnai, and Hien will destroy the Scale of the Father that you are standing near.

Magnai will later put you in chains, and there will be an Active Time Maneuver. When the Active Time Maneuver begins, you can quickly type randomly on the keyboard or quickly press random buttons on the controller to fill the gauge.

There will be a cutscene, and the battle will end, followed by another cutscene. This one is important, so it is recommended to watch it either now or via the Unending Journey in an inn room.
