This page explains how to complete the level 86 Endwalker quest "Lives Apart".

Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest Ponder, Warrant, Cherish, Welcome.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Hermes in Elpis to begin the quest.

Speak with Hermes 1

Go south to go outside, then go southeast to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. Talk to Hermes to proceed.

Speak with Hermes 2

Go northwest to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. Go up the stairs and go to the quest icon on the map. Talk to Hermes to proceed.

Use the Lightning Converger

Dismount if you are mounted, and then you can either use the Lightning Converger from the Key Items section of your inventory, or you can use the icon to the right of the quest name in your list of active quests. Target each of the two sparkling Destinations and use the Lightning Converger on it.

Speak with Hermes 3

Talk to Hermes to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Hermes Again

Go east to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap and talk to Hermes to complete the quest. There will be a cutscene.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Emet-Selch to accept the next quest: Their Greatest Contribution.
