This page explains how to complete the level 82 Endwalker quest "A Way Forward".

Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest At the End of the Trail.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Alphinaud in Garlemald to begin the quest.

Speak with Lucia

You can either teleport to Camp Broken Glass or you can go southwest to where the orange arrow is pointing in the minimap. Talk to Lucia to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Lucia Again

Talk to Lucia to proceed.

Speak with Jullus

Talk to Jullus to proceed.

Speak with Jullus Again

Go to the quest icon and talk to Jullus. You will need to follow Alphinaud and Alisaie. If you are ready, say Yes. Follow Alphinaud and Alisaie as they proceed. You can use Lock On (press NUM5 on keyboard or L3 on controller) and Auto-Move (click the mouse wheel, or press R on keyboard, or press LB while using the left stick on controller) to follow automatically. When they stop, stand in the glowing circle and talk to Jullus to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Jullus Once More

Talk to Jullus to complete the quest.

Optional: Garlemald Aether Current 4

You can optionally go around to the north side of the station, then go through the archway in the domed building to find an Aether Current. You can use the Aether Compass (found in Main Menu > Duty > Collection) to help you pinpoint its location. Check on the Aether Current to attune to it.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Jullus to accept the next quest: The Last Bastion.
