The Allied forces are en route and grand melee outside of the Gates of Judgement will soon begin.

This quest is available if you have completed the quest Choices.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Lucia in Ishgard to begin the quest.

Speak with Emmanellain

Go outside and use an Aethernet Shard to go to the Coerthas Central Highlands via the Gates of Judgement, or if you haven't attuned to all of the Aethernet Shards in Ishgard, you can go to the main Ishgard Aetheryte and go southeast to exit to the Coerthas Central Highlands. Go to the quest icon on the map and talk to Emmanellain.

Afterward, there will be a glow around Emmanellain, indicating an instanced battle. Check on Emmanellain and there will be a cutscene, and then the battle will ensue.

Solo Duty: A Spectacle for the Ages

Defend your tethered ally. Due to the large number of opponents, you can use multi-target attacks, but be sure to ignore the opponents that are not attacking your tethered ally and focus all attacks on those who are. Focus on defeating Veterans first, since the named opponents (such as Pipin of the Steel Heart, and Storm Commander Rhiki) are tougher.

Eventually, you will be tethered. Survive, and there will soon be a cutscene.

When Raubahn casts Flaming Tizona, circle attack markers will appear around the edge. Go to the center, but as soon as the attacks go off, go to the edge, because circle attack markers will appear in the center afterward.

When Raubahn begins casting Immortal Flame, quickly destroy the four Tizonas that appear around the area. If you do not destroy them before Raubahn finishes casting Immortal Flame, you will take heavy damage.

Afterward, Raubahn will cast Flaming Tizona again (the alternating circle attack markers), as well as putting puddles on the ground. Avoid the puddles, dodge the alternating circle attacks, and avoid the red-and-black arcs on the ground when Raubahn casts The Curse.

Afterward, there will be a cutscene.

Speak with Raubahn

Talk to Raubahn to proceed.

Speak with Thancred

Go northwest to the quest icon on the map and talk to Thancred to complete the quest.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Aymeric to accept the next quest: For Those We Can Yet Save. There will be a cutscene.
