The Qitana Ravel - Dungeon Guide

You enter The Qitana Ravel, ancient Ronkan ruins where you seek to defeat a Lightwarden.

How to Unlock

The Qitana Ravel, a 4-player dungeon, is unlocked by the level 75 Main Scenario Quest The Burden of Knowledge.

Miniboss: Ronkan Dreamer

Near the start of the dungeon, you will be trapped in an area with a Ronkan Dreamer.

When the Ronkan Dreamer casts Wrath of the Ronka, it will tether to the statues along the walls. The glowing statues will shoot unmarked line attacks across the room in the direction that they are facing. Quickly look to see which statues are glowing, and make sure to stand next to one of the short walls such that it is between you and any glowing statues.

The boss will also target random players with Ronkan Abyss, a circle attack. Move out of the circle attack marker to avoid it.

There will be a second Ronkan Dreamer before the first boss. It has the same attacks, but will make statues on different sides glow at the same time (but it won't make two statues facing each other glow at the same time). Make sure to look carefully to see which side of a wall to hide behind.

Lozatl

Stonefist is a high-damage attack on the player highest in the enmity list.

Sun Toss marks a random player with a circle attack marker. Move out of the attack marker to avoid the attack.

Lozatl's Scorn damages all players.

A Ronkan statue will light up. After a moment, it will hit the half of the area that it is facing. When a statue is glowing, move to the half of the area that the glowing statue is not facing.

Heat Up will create glowing spots on one half of the boss's body. Wait for the boss to rotate, then go to the side of the boss that isn't glowing. Its attack will hit everyone on the glowing side.

Later in the battle, Lozatl will cast Heat Up, making half of his body glow, then will cast Lozatl's Scorn, making a statue glow. Go to the side of the area that the glowing statue is NOT facing, then after the boss rotates, move to the side of the boss that is not glowing, while also staying on the half of the platform that the glowing statue is not facing.

Batsquatch

Ripper Fang is a high-damage attack on the player highest in the enmity list.

Soundwave damages all players.

Subsonics damages all players continuously and creates many circle attack markers in random locations until the attack ends.

Large stalactites will appear. After a moment, they will fall in a random direction and damage any players that they fall onto. If there are only two stalactites, move to the opposite side of the room away from them. If there are three, stand near the base of one of the stalactites (preferably a stalactite that is farther away from the other two) and watch the top of it. You will be able to see the stalactite slowly start to tip over to one side. Stand on the opposite side of where that stalactite is leaning toward, and you will avoid getting hit.

Eros

Rend is a high-damage attack on the player highest in the enmity list.

Hound out of Heaven will place a tether on a random player. The tethered player needs to move as far away from the boss as possible to reduce the damage of the attack.

Glossolalia damages all players.

Viper Poison places a number of circle attack markers on the ground. Persistent poison puddles will appear there. Avoid standing in the poison puddles to avoid being afflicted with poison.

Inhale will drag all players toward the boss. This is followed by Heaving Breath, which knocks all players across the room away from the boss. Make sure to move to a side where you will not be knocked through a poison puddle, or use a knockback prevention move such as Surecast, Arm's Length, and so on.

Later in the battle, when the boss casts Viper Poison, the boss will also mark one or more random players with a green circle attack marker that follows them. These players should move away from other players. A poison puddle will appear where the marked players are standing, so the marked players should also avoid blocking the safe lanes for the knockback attack that follows Inhale.

When the boss casts Confession of Faith, it will either have a fireball in its central mouth, or it will have lightning in its side mouths. If there is a fireball, it will do an unmarked cone attack down the length of the area originating from its central head. If there is lightning, it will hit the two sides of the area that its side heads are facing, leaving only a safe cone down the center. At the same time, if the boss has a fireball in its central head, two random players will be marked with circle attack markers that follow them. The marked players should move away from other players, and avoid the center of the area where the fireball will hit. Or, if the boss has lightning in its side heads, a random player will be marked with a stack marker. The marked player should move in front of the boss's central head to avoid getting hit by the lightning along the sides, and all other players should stand near the marked player to reduce the damage of the stack attack.

Completing the Quest

Defeating the boss will complete one of the quest objectives for the Main Scenario Quest The Qitana Ravel. There will be a cutscene. This one is important, so it is recommended to watch it either now or via the Unending Journey in an inn room.
