Anamnesis Anyder - Dungeon Guide

This page explains how to complete the level 80 Shadowbringers duty, Anamnesis Anyder.

How to Unlock

Anamnesis Anyder, a 4-player dungeon, is unlocked by the level 80 Main Scenario Quest Beneath the Surface.

On the Way to Katharsis

On the way to the first boss, there is nowhere to go, so just defeat each wave of enemies until a path opens to the rest of the dungeon.

The Unknown

Fetid Fang is a high-damage attack on the player highest in the enmity list.

Scrutiny places many fireballs in the area, each with a circle attack marker centered around itself. The boss will also have a spinning arrow around it. When the spinning arrow stops, the boss will do a cone attack in that direction. Move to a safe area between the fireball circle attack markers, but be prepared to move to another safe area if the boss's arrow is going to point in the direction where you are standing. When the arrow slows down, it will be pointing in the opposite direction from where it will eventually stop, so if you are standing on the opposite side of the boss from the arrow when it starts slowing down, move to a different safe area.

Luminous Ray causes the boss to turn to a random player and have a fireball in its mouth. It will soon do a line attack in the direction that it is facing, so don't be in front of the boss when it has a fireball in its mouth and is casting this attack.

Inscrutability damages all players and inflicts Bleed status on all players. This Bleed status cannot be removed with Esuna.

Clone creates another Unknown. The tank should use moves such as Provoke (available to all tank classes), Shield Lob (Gladiator/Paladin), Tomahawk (Marauder/Warrior), Unmend (Dark Knight), (and/or) Lightning Shot (Gunbreaker) to ensure that this second Unknown focuses on them and not on other players.

The clone will sometimes cast Ectoplasmic Ray, targeting a random player with a line stack indicator. Players should all stand in the indicated line to reduce the damage.

Clearout is a cone attack in front of the boss.

Setback is a cone attack behind the boss.

Plain Weirdness gives the boss a Damage Up status.

Kyklops

The Final Verse damages all players.

2000-Mina Swing is a large circle attack centered on the boss. It is only indicated by the name of the spell that the boss is casting, and by the crouched position of the boss while it casts the spell. The circle attack marker is only displayed briefly, just before the attack, which does not give you enough time to dodge it, so you will need to move away from the boss before then to avoid this attack.

2000-Mina Swipe is a large cone attack in front of the boss. Similar to the previous attack, this is only indicated by the name of the spell, and the boss will raise its arm in the air while casting the spell. The cone attack marker is only displayed briefly. Be sure to move behind or to the side of the boss to avoid it.

The boss will sometimes cast Terrible Hammer or Terrible Blade. Terrible Hammer will place red hammer indicators on some of the tiles, followed by blue swords on the remaining tiles. Similarly, Terrible Blade will place blue sword indicators on some of the tiles, followed by red hammer indicators on the remaining tiles. Be sure to take note of which tiles are marked first, because an attack will occur in those tiles first, then an attack will occur in the remaining tiles soon after. Before the tile attack, however, the boss will cast either 2000-Mina Swing or 2000-Mina Swipe, so keep an eye on the boss to dodge this while also staying on one of the tiles that will not be attacked first. Once the tile attack occurs, move to one of the tiles that was just attacked, to be safe from the attack on the second set of tiles.

Raging Glower will target a random player with a line attack. Don't be in front of the boss when it is casting this attack.

Open Hearth will target a random player with a stack marker. This will occur when the tiles are marked with weapons, so the marked player should move to a tile that will be attacked second. Unmarked players should stack together with the marked player to reduce the damage.

Wanderer's Pyre will mark all players with circle attack markers that follow them. This will occur when the tiles are marked with weapons, so players should spread apart to avoid overlapping each other with their circles, but they should also make sure to stand on tiles that will be attacked second.

Eye of the Cyclone is a donut attack where the only safe area is near the boss. As with the previous attacks, it is only indicated by the spell name and the boss crouching down, with the attack indicator only appearing briefly near the end of the cast, so be sure to move near the boss as soon as you see it casting this spell and crouching down. The edges of the neighboring tiles are within the safe area of this donut attack, so if the center tile will be attacked first, you can safely stand just outside of the center tile to avoid the tile attack while also avoiding the donut attack.

On the Way to Noesis

As you make your way to the third boss, you will sometimes encounter Anyder Diviners that tether to crystals. If you can defeat them before they finish casting Recharge, you can prevent them from creating additional enemies.

Rukshs Dheem

Bonebreaker is a high-damage attack on the player highest in the enmity list.

Seabed Ceremony damages all players and creates one or more lines of water in the area. This is followed by Depth Grip, which creates large hands that come up out of the line of water. Don't be in front of any of these hands or you will be damaged when it performs a line attack in the direction that it is facing. At the same time, random players will be marked with large circle attack markers that follow them. The marked players should spread apart from each other and go to an area where they will not be hit by a line attack from a hand, while staying close to an edge to give other players a bigger safe area.

Rising Tide is a + shaped attack originating from the boss.

Bubbling Grates causes bubbles to appear over some of the grates in the floor. Each player should stand on a different bubbling grate to stop the bubbles. If a grate still has bubbles when the spell finishes casting, a Queen's Harpooner will pop out of each bubbling grate. They will use Meat Shield, forcing you to defeat any Queen's Harpooners before you can resume attacks on the boss.

Another form of Depth Grip consists of two lines of water on the sides of the area. You will need to watch the order that the water hands appear, and stand in front of the gap at the end of the first set of hands, then as soon as the first set of hands is gone, run to the other end of the area to avoid the second set.

Later, Bubbling Grates will also have hands facing some of the bubbling grates. You do not need to try to block the bubbles in front of the hands, because the hands themselves will defeat the additional enemies that pop out.

Flying Font targets a random player with a stack marker. Unmarked players should stack together with the marked player to reduce the damage of the attack.

Command Current consists of cone attacks originating from the boss.

Completing the Quest

Defeating the boss will complete one of the quest objectives for the Main Scenario Quest Anamnesis Anyder.
