You head to the Pillars to seek out information about the arson attacks in Ishgard.

Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest Dreams of the Lost.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Lucia in Ishgard to begin the quest. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Emmanellain

Use an Aethernet Shard to go to the Jeweled Crozier Aethernet Shard. Go west to the quest icon on the map and talk to Emmanellain.

Question the Ishgardians in the Hoplon

Use an Aethernet Shard to go to the Last Vigil Aethernet Shard. Go north to the quest icon on the map and talk to the Unruffled Refugee.

Go north to the next quest icon on the map and talk the Vault Priest. There will be a cutscene.

Go east to the next quest icon on the map and talk to to Maelie.

Rendezvous with Thancred

Go southeast down the curving stairway, then go southeast down the next curving stairway, then go southwest to the quest icon on the map and talk to Thancred.

Rendezvous with Alphinaud

Go northwest down the stairs to reach Foundation. Go south to the Aethernet Shard and use it to go to the Brume Aethernet Shard. Go to the northwest edge of the orange circle on the map and talk to Alphinaud to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Report to Lucia

Go southeast and use the Aethernet Shard to go to the Forgotten Knight Aethernet Shard. Go east through the doors behind Firmalbert and go to the quest icon on the map. Talk to Lucia to complete the quest. There will be a cutscene.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Lucia to accept the next quest: As Goes Light, So Goes Darkness. There will be a cutscene. This one is important, so it is recommended to watch it either now or via the Unending Journey in an inn room.
