On your way to Eulmore, you discover that many Eulmorans are acting strangely.
This quest is available if you have completed the quest Return to Eulmore.
Starting the Quest
Talk to Urianger in Kholusia to begin the quest. There will be a cutscene. This one is important, so it is recommended to watch it either now or via the Unending Journey in an inn room.
Speak with Alphinaud
There will be a glow around Alphinaud, indicating a solo duty. Check on him and there will be a cutscene, and then the duty will ensue.
Solo Duty: A Feast of Lies
Defeat the enemies that attack, and follow Alphinaud whenever he moves on. After the first set of enemies, he goes up the stairs, after the second set of enemies, he goes farther up the stairs, and after the third set, he goes through the door into Eulmore.
The Red Jongleur will use Fire Arts, which targets you with multiple circle attack markers, one after the other. Keep your distance from Alphinaud to prevent hitting him with these attacks, and move out of the attack markers to avoid them.
The Blue Jongleur will use Impalement Arts, inflicting Alphinaud with Flesh Wound status.
The Blue Jongleur will cast Throwing Knife, placing a target marker on Alphinaud, and he will be temporarily stunned, then knocked back, and the Red Jongleur will target him with Sleight of Hand, which places a stack marker on him. Stack together with him to reduce the damage of the attack.
Eventually, the Red Jongleur will use Come One, Come All, which drags you and Alphinaud toward her. The Red Jongleur then uses Acrobatics, placing a large circle attack marker on Alphinaud that follows him. A moment later, the Blue Jongleur will target you with Explosive Juggling, placing a large circle attack marker on you that follows you. Move away from Alphinaud to avoid overlapping him with your circle.
Afterward, follow Alphinaud up the stairs, then continue going up the stairs when he stays behind. When you reach the top, there will be a cutscene.
Ran'jit will cast Unceremonious Beheading, a large circle attack centered on Ran'jit. Then he will cast Katun Cycle, a donut attack where the only safe area is near Ran'jit.
He will cast Merciless Right or Merciless Left, which is a large cone attack to one side, immediately followed by a large cone attack on the other side.
He will dash to a side of the area and cast Evisceration, a large cone attack aimed at you.
He will cast Hot Pursuit, which targets you with several circle attack markers, one after the other. This is combined with Nexus of Thunder, which just makes a +-shaped attack marker, without another one at angle like before.
He will cast Living Flame, which makes several untargetable Raging Flames appear. He will then cast Spiritcall, which knocks you back. Make sure to keep an eye on which flames appear first so you can be knocked back to where the second flames appeared. Or use a knockback-prevention move like Arm's Length, Surecast, etc. After the knockback attack, the second set of flames will attack, so move to a new safe area to avoid them.
He then casts Rising Thunder, which creates several untargetable Thunderspheres. After a moment, the Thunderspheres become targetable. Destroy one of them to give yourself a safe area to stand in.
After this, he will use various attacks in combination. Make sure to keep an eye on which flames appear first so you can be knocked back to where the second flames appeared.
Eventually he will cast Ageless Serpent, summoning four Serpent Heads. They will soon become targetable. Quickly attack each Serpent Head until it dies. When the Serpent Heads are gone, quickly attack Ran'jit and try to defeat him before he casts Torrid Glory. When he is defeated, the duty will be complete, and there will be a cutscene. This one is important, so it is recommended to watch it either now or via the Unending Journey in an inn room.
