Shale is examining the card scanner.

Requirements

This quest is available if you have completed the quest Preservation their Purpose.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Shale in Containment Complex 10-29 in Solution Nine to begin the quest. There will be a cutscene.

Search for a Level 3 Security Card

Check on the Cabinet Drawer, then talk to Shale. There will be a cutscene.

Use the Security Card

Go northeast to the hallway and go north through it, then northwest to the quest icon on the map. Use the security card on the scanning device.

Speak with Shale

Go northeast through the hallway and go to the quest icon. Talk to Shale to proceed.

Gather Information

Check on the Beverage Station and Soul Cell Storage Case, then if you check the Cluttered Side Table, you can search the locker and examine the data tablet. Then you can check the daily reports and check Shutdown protocols. Finally, check on the Office Shelves to get a clue.

Hand the Crumpled Note to Shale

Talk to Shale and hand over the crumpled note. There will be a cutscene.

Use the Director's Terminal

Talk to Gulool Ja, then choose to solve the puzzle. You receive Alexandrite. Check on the Jewel Display Plate and say Yes. Then choose a floor plan of this complex. Click on the Scrawled Phrase, which says heed the stones. When you're ready, click the glowing spot below the display plate to exit. Then talk to Sphene. Ask her about the symbolism, to learn that alexandrite represents protection, sapphire represents honesty, garnet represents devotion. Check on the Director's terminal. The solutions are: protolab = honesty
deuterolab = devotion
director's office = protection
There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Shale Again

Talk to Shale to proceed. There will be a cutscene.

Speak with Shale Once More

Talk to Shale to complete the quest.

Next Main Scenario Quest

After you complete the quest, talk to Sphene to accept the next quest: One of Our Own. There will be a cutscene.
