Lapis Manalis - Dungeon Guide

This page explains how to complete the level 90 post-Endwalker duty, Lapis Manalis.

How to Unlock

Lapis Manalis, a 4-player dungeon, is unlocked by the level 90 Main Scenario Quest King of the Mountain.

Start Combat

If you are using the Duty Support system for this dungeon, be sure to move north to start the combat.

Albion

Call of the mountain creates a cloud of snow in the west or east side of the area. Don't stand in front of the snow cloud. A line of animals will come from the snow cloud and go across the area. While the first animals are going across, another snow cloud will appear on the same side as the first. Be sure to dodge the second line of animals as well.

Albion's Embrace is a high-damage attack on the player highest in the enmity list.

Albion will cast Right Slam or Left Slam. Right Slam hits the area to the right of the boss. Left Slam hits the area to the left of the boss.

Knock on Ice creates red circle attack markers throughout the area. Avoid standing in the red circles.

Ice crystals will appear where the red circle attacks occurred, and Albion will cast Icebreaker, tethering to one of the ice crystals. Stay far away from the tethered ice crystal to avoid the circle attack that will originate from it.

All players will be marked with circle attack markers that follow them. Players should spread apart from each other to avoid overlapping each other with their circles. At the same time, dodge the stationary circle attack markers that appear throughout the area.

Albion will cast Roar of Albion. To avoid the attack, hide behind an ice crystal.

Later in the battle, Call of the Mountain is paired with Right Slam or Left Slam, so be sure to dodge the line of animals while also staying on the safe side of the boss.

Galatea Magna

The boss will cast either Waning Cycle (a donut attack followed immediately by a circle attack centered on the boss) or Waxing Cycle (a circle attack centered on the boss followed immediately by a donut attack). After the first attack goes off, move into the area where the first attack occurred. If you get hit, you get the Sustained Damage status.

Soul Scythe will create a circle attack marker at the edge of the area that the boss is facing. Go to the edge of the area behind the boss to avoid being in the range of the circle attack.

Soul Nebula damages all players.

Scarecrow Chase places two portals in the area. Each one will have a number of dots above it to indicate the order of attacks. The boss will go to each portal and perform an X-shaped attack at each one. Move to a location where you will not be hit by either of the two X-shaped attacks.

Tenebrism inflicts the Glassy Eyed status, and creates four meteor circle markers, one after the other. Make sure that at least one player is standing in each of the circle markers. After that, when your Glassy Eyed status expires, there will be a gaze attack originating from all four players, so make sure to face away from all other players to avoid the gaze attack.

Dark Harvest is a high-damage attack on the player highest in the enmity list.

From now on, whenever the boss casts Soul Nebula, she will create four portals instead of two. Try standing in a location where you will be safe from the first two attacks, then after the first two attacks occur, move to a location that is safe from the final two attacks.

Cagnazzo

Stygian Deluge damages all players, and makes the edge of the area unsafe. Standing in the unsafe area will give you the Dropsy status.

Antediluvian creates orbs over the area. There will eventually be large circle attacks beneath each location where the orbs appeared, in the order that the orbs appeared. Stand beneath the second set of orbs, then when the first orbs' attacks occur, move away from the second orbs and third orbs. A knockback indicator will appear in the center of the area. After the second orb attacks occur, get close to the knockback indicator and position yourself to be knocked away from the third orbs that appeared.

A depiction of the possible attack patterns that Cagnazzo uses for his Hydraulic Ram attack in the Lapis Manalis dungeon in Final Fantasy XIV.

Hydraulic Ram creates many circle attacks and line attacks throughout the area. These attacks do not occur until the red attack markers have all disappeared and the Hydraulic Ram cast has finished. As you can see from the above diagram, two of the corners will be safe. As soon as an attack marker covers one of the corners, you know that that corner and its opposite corner are unsafe. Go to one of the safe corners, but watch out for a circle attack marker in that corner. If a circle attack will hit your corner, you may need to try to move to the other safe corner if there is enough time before the Hydraulic Ram cast finishes.

Hydrofall targets a random player with a stack marker. Unmarked players should stack together with the marked player to reduce the damage of the attack.

The boss will cast Cursed Tide, inflicting three players with Neap Tide status, and one player with Spring Tide status. Four Fearsome Flotsam crystals appear, and a Cagnazzo's Power gauge appears. Attack the Fearsome Flotsam throughout this phase. The three players with the Spring Tide status will have circle attack markers that follow them. Players should spread apart from each other to avoid overlapping each other with their circles, and players will need to dodge stationary circle attack markers at this time as well. After the stationary circle attacks go off, the player with the Spring Tide status will have a stack marker. Unmarked players should stack together with the marked player to reduce the damage of the attack.

After you kill all of the Fearsome Flotsam, or after a certain amount of time passes, Cagnazzo casts his ultimate attack: Tsunami. The power of this attack is based on how full the gauge became before the attack.

Voidcleaver damages all players.

Untargetable objects will appear, and each will tether to a random player. Players should point their tethers away from the center, because the floating objects will cast cone attacks in the tethered player's direction.

At the same time, Cagnazzo will cast Lifescleaver, a set of cone attacks originating from the center. Stand in one of the safe areas between the cone attacks.

Void Torrent is a high-damage attack on the player highest in the enmity list.

Completing the Quest

Defeating the boss will complete one of the quest objectives for the Main Scenario Quest King of the Mountain.
