Where to Buy Magic Truffles

Unfortunately, you can't buy Magic Truffles in EarthBound. The only way to get them is to find them in the Deep Darkness, and you can also receive one from an unnamed NPC in exchange for an item. Magic Truffles restore 80PP, making them helpful in battle, but there are only six Magic Truffles in the game. See below for full details on how to get all six Magic Truffles.

How to Use the Insignificant Item to get a Magic Truffle

When you first visit Threed, go into the Threed hospital, then go upstairs and enter the first room, then check the drawers to get an Insignificant Item. You might want to call Escargo Express and have them store it for you. Then, when you can go back to Twoson, go into the Twoson hospital, go upstairs and enter the first hospital room. Use the Insignificant item on the patient to get a Magic Truffle.

Where to Buy the Piggy Nose

To help you find Magic Truffles in the Deep Darkness, you can buy the Piggy Nose from a merchant in Scaraba for $300. The merchant is in the southwest part of the open air market in Scaraba. Use the Piggy Nose in the Deep Darkness to help you pinpoint the location of each hidden Magic Truffle. See below for the list of Magic Truffle locations, then use the Piggy Nose in those areas to help you find them.

How to Get Magic Truffle #1 in the Deep Darkness

The first Magic Truffle in the Deep Darkness is near where you first enter the area. There is an area of deep water southeast of the bird phone and monkeys near where the Yellow Submarine drops you off. In that area of deep water, there is a fallen log, and a tree north of that log. Stand north of that tree and use the Check command to find the Magic Truffle. If you can't find it, use the Piggy Nose (see above) to help pinpoint the location.

How to Get Magic Truffle #2 in the Deep Darkness

The second Magic Truffle in the Deep Darkness is east of the first. There is an area of dirt where you can see an arms dealer walking around near a tree. (If the arms dealer is in the deep water, then you will just see something moving around in the water.) The Magic Truffle is just to the north of the tree.

How to Get Magic Truffle #3 in the Deep Darkness

The third Magic Truffle in the Deep Darkness is a long walk away from the previous one. After you find a gift box that contains a Banana, you will keep going south, then the path will go slightly west, then north, leading to an area of deep water with a tall twisted tree in it. Go west in this deep water and you eventually find a gift box with Beef Jerky in it. The Magic Truffle is northwest of that gift box, in a strip of deep water along the roots of the trees to the north, behind a tree on the left side of the deep water.

How to Get Magic Truffle #4 in the Deep Darkness

The fourth Magic Truffle in the Deep Darkness is another long walk away from the previous one. After you go past the crashed helicopter, keep going west until you start to see dirt to the west. There is a small amount of shallow water to the east of that dirt. Go north of that shallow water and check at the base of the tree in the deep water to find this Magic Truffle.

How to Get Magic Truffle #5 in the Deep Darkness

If you have already been to the Tenda Village, you can teleport there and go east to find this Magic Truffle (read on for a description of its location). Otherwise, you can get this Magic Truffle after the battle with Master Barf. Go north from where you fought Master Barf, and look for some shallow water to the northwest. There is a tree north of the east edge of this shallow water. Check behind this tree to find the last Magic Truffle.
