Champion Assessment

This page lists the opponents you will face during the Champion Assessment in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Prepare for the Champion Assessment

During the Champion Assessment, you will not be able to leave until you either defeat all five opponents, or you are defeated. You can access your Pokémon Boxes and change your party Pokémon between battles. Your Tera Orb will be recharged between battles, but your Pokémon will not be healed, so make sure to bring plenty of Potions and Ethers.

Since you can change Pokémon between battles, focus on catching and leveling up as many high-level Pokémon as you can. Raise them to level 57 or higher before you start the Champion Assessment.

How to Begin the Champion Assessment

You can begin the Champion Assessment if you have won all eight Gym Badges. Once you have done so, go to Mesagoza and go through the cave entrance northwest of the western Pokémon Center in Mesagoza. Go to the large building at the end of the path and there will be a cutscene.

If you are ready to begin the Champion Assessment, talk to the person in front of the door of the Pokémon League building and say Yes.

After that, approach the front of the chair to sit down. The answers to the questions are:

  1. How did you get here today? (Answer however you wish)
  2. Please tell me the name of the school you are enrolled in.
    • If you are playing Pokémon Scarlet, the correct answer is Naranja Academy
    • If you are playing Pokémon Violet, the correct answer is Uva Academy
