Get Your Travel Bag Back

Follow the Pokémon through the alley.

Choose Your Pokémon

Now you can choose your starter Pokémon. You can choose from Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile. Talk to the Pokémon that you want to choose, then you can either confirm your choice or go back if you're not sure.

After you make your choice, you will battle Andi the Backpacker. Hold ZL to target your opponent's Pokémon, then choose the moves you want your Pokémon to use. The battle occurs in real time, so keep an eye on the button icons in the bottom right of the screen, and when the gauge fills, you can press the corresponding button to use the indicated move. You get 192 Pokédollars for winning. You also get your Travel Bag back.

After a cutscene, you will start Main Mission 02: Escape from the Battle Zone!
