Garmur Luminae Polaris SKIN

typeID75270
Volume0.01 m³
CategoryPermanent SKIN
DescriptionPolar lights are a common sight on many planets across New Eden, varying according to atmospheric conditions, planetary magnetic fields, and the stellar wind of the local star. Many cultures consider these dramatic displays in the skies of their planets to be awe-inspiring and dramatic, and they are the source of much myth and art. In some cases, extreme aurora activity can be a portent of impending disaster, and increased or even extreme stellar activity can indeed wreak havoc on inhabited planets. Even so, the Luminae Polaris nanocoating celebrates the more attractive and inspiring side of these dramatic phenomena.

Held under heavy security, the event at the Grand Teigjon Resort & Casino in Vellaine saw many of the "Greats" of the Mind Clash world compete. Even so, relative newcomer Okaada saw off the powerful field, capping her first time win of the Caldari State Championships with the Worlds crown. To celebrate the meteoric rise of the new phenomenon, Kiyria Okaada's management commissioned a commemorative nanocoating aimed at the capsuleer market. With capsuleers a significant demographic among the most dedicated Mind Clash fans, the Redclaw Sable nanocoating is expected to be popular with aficionados of the complex, mentally-demanding neuro-holographic sport.

One persistent tale has the Guristas pirates raiding down from New Eden to fight extensive battles against Triglavian fleets deep in the very heart of the abyss. Whether the tales of vast clashes in the dark depths of Abyssal Deadspace are true or impossible exaggerations of the kind often heard in the dives frequented by piratical scum remains to be seen.

Gila Deathglow Hunters SKIN

typeID49433
Volume0.01 m³
CategoryPermanent SKIN
DescriptionThe substance nicknamed 'Deathglow' can be obtained by refining a rare mineral obtained from asteroids that have been altered by the strange gravitational and electromagnetic effects of certain deadspace pockets lying in the zones between 'shallow', stable deadspace and the truly twisted depths of abyssal deadspace. The Deathglow Hunters are notorious criminals and partake of frenzied rituals using the substance. Recent intelligence suggests the Deathglow gangs are largely affiliated with the Blood Raider Covenant, a development that may indicate a desire on the part of the Blood Raiders to expand their operations into the drugs and boosters trade.

Gila Dragon Phoenix SKIN

typeID54431
Volume0.01 m³
CategoryPermanent SKIN
DescriptionMany cultures of New Eden have mythological figures or creatures that share common features with those found elsewhere, even far across the stars on the worlds of different empires. Such a legendary beast, or sometimes pair of creatures, that shows up in many places is the Dragon Phoenix. The various versions of the Dragon Phoenix found across New Eden vary in details but are all known as harbingers of good fortune and symbols of rebirth. The vast Gallente Federation, with its myriad cultures and states, has many instances of this mythology present in various forms, including versions where the beast is one legendary creature, accounts of twinned creatures, and even one where the 'Dragon' and the 'Phoenix' marry and become one. This myth is far less common among the Caldari, with their Way of the Winds, and the Amarr with their all-pervading monotheistic religion. Even so, the native traditional Caldari still living on Caldari Prime have an echo of the idea in their ancient myths; the Achura Stargazers translate the notion into certain of their ideas; and certain cult tales of the Khanid may cloak the myth under layers of Amarr religious trappings. For their part, the Minmatar tribes keep a plethora of totemic creatures and tell many fabulous tales in the traditions of their clans and caravans. Creatures akin to the fantastic Dragon Phoenix are quite at home in the animistic and shamanic cultures of the Minmatar.

Gila Emperor Bear SKIN

typeID52302
Volume0.01 m³
CategoryPermanent SKIN
DescriptionThe high lords of the ancient Caldari Raata Empire used many different sigils but one of the most famous is the sign of the Emperor Bear, believed to have been the personal sigil of Emperor K'vire III Fuukiuye of the Second Unification Realm. While the ancient histories of the Caldari are shrouded in myth and legend, this bear sigil is clearly derived from a totemic attachment to the large Emperor Bears of the southern polar archipelagos. The Fuukiuye tribes are thought to have ranged as far south as the island taigas in their remarkable migrations across the face of Caldari Prime, and surely encountered the golden-furred Emperor Bears. It is likely that a golden bear totem was used by one of the paramount tribes and became associated with leadership over the centuries. Emperor K'vire III Fuukiuye was no doubt concerned to cement his leadership of the Raata Empire by using the symbolism. The sigil was dispensed with some two centuries later when the Fuukiuye emperors were supplanted by the Orioyoni under the leadership of Emperor Deteaas IX Orioyoni during the Third Unification. The Emperor Bear, like its northern Storm Bear cousin, remains a potent symbol for Caldari, indicative in some animist traditions of leadership that serves the collective.

Gila Empyrean Outlaws SKIN

typeID79757
Volume0.01 m³
CategoryPermanent SKIN
DescriptionIn chaos, opportunity. In death, profit. Take what's yours, burn the rest. Capsuleer pirates are among the most feared predators of New Eden’s space lanes, posing a deadly threat to almost any non-capsuleer traffic and a serious problem for all but the most experienced loyalist and law-abiding capsuleers. Capsuleers, the so-called “Empyreans”, are considered a disruptive element by many but the outlaws among them can reach levels of notoriety that are usually the preserve of major corporation or alliance leaders.

Gila Gilded Predator SKIN

typeID77176
Volume0.01 m³
CategoryPermanent SKIN
DescriptionThis gilded nanocoating denotes the wealth and predatory power of the capsuleer class. Whether it can be considered a celebration of the cycle of acquisition and destruction that marks the capsuleer lifestyle or represents, rather, an ironic commentary by the designer is left to personal interpretation. Super Kerr-Induced Nanocoatings (SKINs) are a technology that enables capsuleers to change the look of their ships at will. Individual ship SKINs are activated by integrating the special encoding into the pilot's neural interfaces, and are subsequently available to use on any suitable ship flown by the capsuleer.

Gila Helmatt's Harriers SKIN

typeID54230
Volume0.01 m³
CategoryPermanent SKIN
DescriptionOne of the Guristas Pirates most notorious and brash combat pilots, Lucash Helmatt has carved out a spot for himself as a key leader of Guristas raids on the forces of law and order. Helmatt's personal wing of raiders, the Harriers, is feared far-and-wide across the systems bordering the Guristas territories in nullsec. In his typical style, Lucash had all Helmatt's Harriers ships painted in bright and disruptive yellow and black with an eye to intimidation and maintaining his personal notoriety. The Harriers are also notable for harboring a large number of combat pilots originating from other pirate and crime organizations across New Eden. Helmatt himself has a long and brutal career in the Angel Cartel before defecting to the Guristas, and he has built the Harriers out of a ragtag band of cut-throats and wolfs-heads no less ruthless, violent and rapacious.

Gila Storm Bear SKIN

typeID48817
Volume0.01 m³
CategoryPermanent SKIN
DescriptionCaldari Prime's climate is renowned for being colder than most temperate worlds, but the large polar and subpolar regions are frigid indeed. The huge swathes of territory circled around the poles contain various biomes, including vast tundras, but the taigas of the subpolar belts are iconic in Caldari culture and mythology. The most charismatic of the fauna inhabiting these belts are the great bears of Caldari Prime. In the northern taiga, the Storm Bear reigns supreme, a creature larger than any other predator save the Emperor Bears of the southern polar archipelagos. The realm of the Storm Bear is far more mountainous than the southern islands and is known for the sky-wracking storms that sweep the forested slopes of the region. The Storm Bear, also called "Thunder Bear" in some Caldari animist traditions, takes its name from its rain-cloud grey pelt and its complete fearlessness, even in the face of the wind, rain and lightning of the greatest mountain storms.

Gnosis Genolution Dazzle SKIN

typeID79008
Volume0.01 m³
CategoryPermanent SKIN
DescriptionIn the early era of spaceship combat, various forms of optical camouflage and confusion were experimented with in order to gain even the slightest tactical edge. It was rapidly concluded that such gambits made little to no difference, particularly with the sophistication and number of electromagnetic and gravimetric sensors involved. Despite the improbability of any significant effect, Genolution's capsuleer performance researchers are investigating the psychological factors that may come into play with the use of such a "dazzle" camouflage scheme. The patterns they are researching are supposedly even older than the early days of spaceships, with a lineage stretching back to ancient naval warship combat. It is not clear the scheme was particularly effective even in those days.
