Route 8

After visiting Lavender Town and finding ghosts in Pokémon Tower, you go west into Route 8 to follow Team Rocket.

Explore the Route

Route 8 is west of Lavender Town.

To the left, you battle Beauty Aubrey, who has a level 26 Clefairy. You get 1560 Pokédollars and 3 Poké Balls for winning.

Go west. In the grass, you can encounter wild Pidgey, Pidgeotto, Rattata, Raticate, Jigglypuff, Vulpix, and others.

Northeast of the grass, you can battle Gamer Rich, who has a level 35 Seaking. It knows the powerful Normal-type move Horn Drill, which is likely to one-hit KO your pokémon (unless they are Ghost-type pokémon, which are immune). However, it can only use the move five times before it runs out of moves, so your last pokémon should be able to survive (or just use Revives on your pokémon). If you have a pokémon with a high speed stat, it might be able to avoid the Horn Drill attacks altogether. You get 4200 Pokédollars and 3 Poké Balls for winning.

In the grass, you can battle Ace Trainer Kyla, who has a level 28 Kadabra and a level 29 Machoke. You get 2900 Pokédollars and 5 Ultra Balls for winning.

Near the Ace Trainer, there is a Fire Stone. You can use this to evolve certain pokémon.

Northeast of the grass, check in the bush to find a hidden set of 3 Silver Pinap Berries.

North of the grass, you can battle Super Nerd Aidan, who has a level 27 Koffing. You get 1080 Pokédollars and 3 Poké Balls for winning.

West of the Super Nerd, there is an X Speed.

South of there, you can battle Rocker Glenn, who has a level 27 Jolteon. You get 756 Pokédollars and 3 Poké Balls for winning.

South of the Rocker, you can battle Gamer Stan, who has a level 35 Rhyhorn.

Go west from the Gamer and you can battle Lass Andrea (the lass on the right), who has three level 25 Meowths. You get 500 Pokédollars and 3 Poké Balls for winning.

To the left of Andrea, you can battle Lass Megan, who has a level 25 Pikachu. You get 500 Pokédollars and 3 Poké Balls for winning.

Go north from the Lasses. There is a hidden Golden Pinap Berry in the bush to the right of the tunnel entrance.

Go to the right, then jump down the ledge to find a Big Mushroom.

Go south down the ledge, then go east, then south, then west, then north. To the left of the tunnel entrance, you can battle Super Nerd Leslie, who has a level 27 Magnemite. You get 1080 Pokédollars and 3 Poké Balls for winning.

If you try to go west from here, the gate guard won't let you go through.

You can go into the tunnel next to the Super Nerd to use the Underground Path to Celadon City. Be sure to watch your partner pokémon's tail to find hidden items. As you walk along the Underground Path, you will find an X Accuracy and an X Defense.

After you go through the Underground Path, you come out in Route 7.
