This page explains how to start and complete the A Parent's Love side quest.
How to Start the Quest
After you complete the quest From the Ground Up, sit by a fire until night, then stand near the open window of the southern house of Tarrey Town and you can listen in on the conversation.
How to Complete the Quest
To make Monster Cake, you need the following ingredients:
- Monster Extract - You can buy it from Kilton. If you haven't found Kilton before, you can find him in the eye of Skull Lake, which is northwest of the East Akkala Stable at night. If you have already found him there, you can find his shop in or near towns at night. Or you can get Monster Extract by rescuing Chabi, a traveler who gets attacked by monsters.
- Cane Sugar - Buy in Rito Village, Goron City, the shop in the Great Deku Tree in Korok Forest, or from the Merchant Yammo, who travels between Tabantha Bridge Stable and Serenne Stable, and can be found by using the Hyrule Compendium to search for a Donkey or an Emblazoned Shield.
- Goat Butter - Buy in Rito Village, Kakariko Village, or from a merchant named Agus who travels between Hateno Village and Dueling Peaks Stable.
- Tabantha Wheat - Buy in Rito Village, Gerudo Town, or from the Merchant Yammo, who travels between Tabantha Bridge Stable and Serenne Stable, and can be found by using the Hyrule Compendium to search for a Donkey or an Emblazoned Shield. There is also a small chance of getting Tabantha Wheat if you cut grass in the Tabantha Frontier area.
After you make Monster Cake, talk to Ruli and give her the Monster Cake. Afterward, talk to Ruli.
Quest Reward
Ruli gives you a Gold Rupee.
