After you meet Kyogre in Withered Wasteland, go through the east area gate to reach Bleak Beach.
How to Reach Bleak Beach
After you meet Kyogre in Withered Wasteland, go through the east area gate to reach Bleak Beach.
Follow the Professor
Keep following the Professor until they stop at a broken bridge, and talk to them. Fix the bridge by putting blocks in the gaps.
Cross the Bridge
Cross the bridge and turn left, and you will see a broken Pokémon Center surrounded by water. Talk to Professor Tangrowth to continue.
Try to Use the PC
Try to use the PC in front of the broken Pokémon Center. Then go up onto the wall behind the Pokémon Center, and you will see a Horsea Fountain. Use blocks to stop the water from pouring on the Pokémon Center. After the water flows away, the PC will beep. Check on it.
Talk to Meowth
Meowth will run up to you, so talk to them. Follow them to their shack and talk to them. Then use blocks to stop the flooding in the shack.
Create Pokémon Habitats
Look around for Pokémon traces, then make the habitats you learn about if you have the required items. You can also use Water Gun to water the dry grass blocks, then use Leafage to grow four tall grass close together. This will create the Yellow Tall Grass habitat. Do this again so you have at least two Yellow Tall Grass habitats.
Talk to Meowth Again
After you get two new Pokémon to move in, talk to Meowth after they have a speech bubble above their head. Then make two Mushroom Lamps (you can find Glowing Mushrooms if you go back across the bridge that you fixed earlier; there are Glowing Mushrooms in a green area in the cliff wall) and put them in Meowth's shack. You can stand near Meowth's bed and press the right control stick like a button to see the outline of Meowth's habitat to make sure you put the lamps in the correct area. Talk to Meowth afterward.
Talk to Meowth About Mud
When Meowth mentions mud, talk to them. You will learn the Hydrated Yellow Tall Grass Habitat. Water the dry grass around some water, then use Leafage to create four things of tall grass at the water's edge, then wait for the water to splash. Check on it to meet Piplup.
Talk to Piplup
Talk to Piplup, then have them follow you, and face the blobs of mud in front of Meowth's shack. Piplup will create bubbles on the mud. Use Water Gun to wash away the bubbling mud. You can go around washing away all the mud in the area, but there is a lot of it. When you're ready to continue, talk to Meowth again.
Talk to Professor Tangrowth
After a while, Professor Tangrowth will mention being happy that there are more Pokémon. Talk to them and they will ask you to build a house for Pokémon. There are some houses across the bridge that you first repaired in this area. If you add blocks and doors, the houses will become habitable. You can then talk to Professor Tangrowth to continue.
Raise the Environment Level to 3
If the Environment Level is lower than 3, read How to Increase the Environment Level and take steps to improve the environment level until it reaches 3.
Rebuild the Pokémon Center
Once the environment level is at least 3, you can purchase a Pokémon Center Rebuilding Kit from the PC.
Help Meowth
When Meowth has a speech bubble about adding color, talk to them to learn the Chirp-Chirp Meal habitat.
Meet Torchic
There is already a Wooden Birdhouse, Table, and Plate across from Meowth's shack. Just pick up the plate and put it on the table, then put food on the plate, to create the habitat. When the birdhouse starts shaking, check on it to meet Torchic. Talk to Torchic and ask about making a Planter. You will need to find some Squishy Clay. Some of the blocks near blocks of sand in this area are clay blocks, and you can also find clay blocks in the cave where you first found Onix in Withered Wasteland.
Make Bricks
After you have some squishy clay, talk to Torchic to make some bricks. Check in with them after a while to get the bricks.
Make a Planter and Grow Flowers in It
Now that you have bricks, make a planter, talk to Meowth, put the planter in Meowth's habitat, then grow flowers in it (or you can use Rototiller to pick up some flowers so you can put them in the planter). Talk to Meowth to complete their request.
Talk to Piplup Again
When Piplup mentions needing more water, talk to them to learn the Trash Collection Site habitat. There is a trash can and sign near the workbench next to the Pokémon Center, and if you pick up any nonburnable garbage from the ground, you will learn the garbage bags recipe. Make some garbage bags and put them near the trash can and sign near the workbench, then when it starts shaking, check on it to meet Trubbish. Trubbish has the Recycle ability, and you can give them nonburnable garbage to get Iron Ore. There are other materials that you can give to Pokémon with the Recycle ability.
Get Iron Ore
After you meet Trubbish (see above), give them Nonburnable Garbage, then check in with them later to get Iron Ore. You'll learn the Shower recipe.
Make a Shower for Piplup
Talk to Piplup after you have the Iron Ore, then make a Shower and put it in Piplup's habitat. Then talk to Piplup to complete their request.
Talk to Trubbish
Talk to Trubbish and you will learn the Breezy Flower Bed habitat.
Meet Pawmi
If you haven't met Pawmi already, you will need to create the Breezy Flower Bed habitat. To get flowers for the Breezy Flower Bed habitat, you can either go around the area and use Rototiller to pull up Seashore Flowers, then plant them in a group of four together, or you can buy Seashore Flower Seeds from the PC in front of the Pokémon Center and ask a Pokémon with the Grow specialty to follow you, then plant the seeds and face them to get the Pokémon to make them grow instantly.
After the flowers start shaking, check on them to meet Pawmi.
Have Pawmi Power the Streetlight
Ask Pawmi to follow you, then go up to the streetlight in front of the Pokémon Center, and Pawmi will generate electricity for it.
Talk to Piplup Once More
When Piplup has a speech bubble about swimming together, talk to them and they will ask to talk to Professor Tangrowth together, so ask them to follow you, then go to Professor Tangrowth and wait for Piplup to walk up to the Professor. You will learn the Tropical Seaside habitat.
Meet Lapras
Create the Tropical Seaside habitat. You can use Rototiller to pull up hedges (and be sure to water short trees to turn them into hedges), then place them around a palm tree near the ocean to create the habitat.
When the water in this habitat starts splashing, check on it to meet Lapras.
Clean the Mud Near Lapras's Habitat
When Lapras has a speech bubble over their head, talk to them, and they will want you to clear away the mud in the area. If you haven't cleaned the mud in the area already, talk to a Pokémon that has the Water specialty (for example, Piplup) and have them follow you, and clear away the mud.
Learn Surf
Talk to Lapras after you clear away the mud and you will learn Surf. You can then press B when in water to Surf.
Talk to Trubbish Again
When Trubbish asks about noises, talk to them and agree to check out the noises together, and they will follow you. Go toward where Trubbish was looking. You can talk to them again to get them to look in the direction they want to go, to help you find what they are looking for.
As you get closer, you will find a cliff wall with broken blocks, and you will see a speech bubble behind the broken blocks. Use Rock Smash on the blocks to get rid of them, then talk to the Pokémon with the speech bubble.
Get Help from Professor Tangrowth
Talk to Professor Tangrowth, then go back to Mosslax, then talk to Professor Tangrowth to continue.
Talk to Meowth Once More
Meowth will have a speech bubble, so talk to them, and they will ask you to light up three streetlights. Talk to Pawmi, or any Pokémon with the Generate ability, then walk up to unlit streetlights to have the Pokémon light them.
Check on Snorlax
After you have lit up at least three streetlights, talk to Meowth, then go and talk to Snorlax.
Check on the Suspicious Brick
At some point, in front of the Pokémon Center, you will find a suspicious brick that has a speech bubble above it. Use Rock Smash on it and you will meet Zorua.
Make Some Toy Blocks
You will learn the Toy Blocks recipe, so make some, then talk to Zorua and say you got them something. You will learn Camouflage.
Talk to Smearguru
You will find Smearguru southeast of the Pokémon Center, south of where you find Mosslax. Talk to them and they will request that you find a Pokémon that has the Crush specialty, then give that Pokémon a Leppa Berry, then bring Smearguru the results. You will learn the Tantalizing Restaurant habitat. There is a broken down building to the northwest where there is a lamp on a dresser, as well as a table, a plate, and a menu board. There is a nearby bench that you can put in front of the table, then you can put food on the plate to create this habitat.
Give Smearguru Red Paint
After you meet a Pokémon with the Crush specialty and get Red Paint from them, talk to Smearguru.
Talk to Smearguru Again
Talk to Smearguru when they say they yearn to paint. You will learn about asking Smearguru to paint things for you. Talk to Smearguru and you can either ask them to paint something for you, and choose something from your inventory, or you can ask them to follow you, and go to a house and ask them to paint it.
Talk to Smearguru Once More
Talk to Smearguru when they have a speech bubble about the glimmer in your eye. You will learn recipes for Paint Balloons. You can craft these at workbenches if you have bowls of paint. You have a random chance of getting black paint or white paint whenever you ask a Pokémon to crush berries to make paint for you. For more information about how to get each color of paint, see the page about paint.
Craft a Paint Balloon and Use It
To complete Smearguru's request, use a workbench to create a paint balloon, then go up to paintable furniture or a house and use the balloon on it. Then go talk to Smearguru to complete their request. This will unlock Smearguru's pattern ability. Whenever you ask Smearguru to paint an item from your inventory, if there is a dotted line square in the item description, you can choose a pattern for Smearguru to paint on that item.
Bring Smearguru a Fossil
Talk to Smearguru again, and they will ask for a fossil. Show them any fossil, then talk to them again. Their Paint ability has now expanded so they can paint multiple parts of certain items.
Talk to Zorua
When Zorua has a speech bubble asking how you're doing, talk to them, then use Camouflage on something, then go up to Zorua. You will learn the game hide-and-sneak, where you need to camouflage yourself, then go to the Pokémon Center PC without anyone noticing you. You can talk to Zorua whenever you want to play hide-and-sneak, and sometimes Pokémon will come up to you and ask you to play.
Talk to Torchic
Torchic has a suggestion on how to make the town brighter. Talk to them and you will learn the Resort Meal Prep habitat. You can take Torchic along with you, and make a campfire, plate, and seat at a workbench, then place them around a palm tree and put food on the plate, and have Torchic light the campfire, to build the habitat.
Talk to Professor Tangrowth Again
Now that you have spoken with Meowth and Torchic, go back and talk to Professor Tangrowth, who is still with Mosslax. Follow the the Professor, or the Pokémon that have speech bubbles over their heads, toward the west. If you aren't sure where to go, ask Professor Tangrowth. You will find a Pokémon lying down on the island. Talk to them to meet Peakychu.
Talk to Peakychu
Peakychu will go over to Mosslax, so go there and talk to Peakychu when they have a speech bubble over their head. You will learn the recipe for a Shell Lamp. Use a workbench to make one, then bring it back to the cave and put it on the wall next to Mosslax. Then use your Pokédex and press Y to filter to Pokémon in this area who have the Generate ability, such as Mareep, Pawmi, and Pawmot. Have one of them follow you, then go up to the Shell Lamp and they will light the lamp.
Follow Peakychu
Follow Peakychu to the windmill and talk to them. You will learn about placing utility poles. There is a gray block near the windmill that has a small circle on top. Blocks like this are good places to put utility poles, so put one there. Look for other blocks like this nearby, and this will allow the windmill to power the utility poles. Do this until you have connected the windmill to the utility pole that Professor Tangrowth was looking at.
Talk to Peakychu Again
When Peakychu has a speech bubble about their heart beating so fast, talk to them. Then place Utility Poles in the area until you have placed one near a Harbor Streetlight and lit it up.
Talk to Peakychu Once More
Peakychu will go back to Mosslax. After you light up a lot of streetlights, Peakychu should have a speech bubble that says things have gotten brighter. Talk to them, then follow them to the device. When they say "this is it!" talk to them.
Place Utility Poles
Put utility poles near the device and make sure the utility poles are connected to one or more electricity generators. (If you already put utility poles near the device, you need to pick them up and put them back down to make them connect to the device.)
Test the Device
When lights have lit up on the device, talk to Peakychu. If you haven't lit up all five lights, Peakychu will say "what to do..." Talk to them to learn that you have to connect more generators.
Connect More Generators
You can talk to Torchic, Trubbish, and Piplup to find more generators in town. There is a windmill on the cliff east of Mosslax, a waterwheel south of the windmill, and a furnace south of the Pokémon Center. You can put burnable items like sticks, logs, leaves, and vines into the furnace. Use utility poles to connect all the generators to the device where Peakychu is.
Talk to Peakychu, part 4
After you connect more generators to the device and it is showing five glowing circles, talk to Peakychu. Wait for Peakychu to step onto the machine, charge up, and say "charging complete", then talk to them.
Talk to Mosslax
After Peakychu lights up the town for you, go and talk to Mosslax.
Talk to Raikou
Jump up to where Raikou is standing above Mosslax, and talk to Raikou.
Talk to Mosslax Again
Talk to Mosslax to complete the Important Request.
Continue on to Sparkling Skylands
If you already met Volcanion in Rocky Ridges, your trainer rank is now Ultra. (If you haven't, read Rocky Ridges for information on how to meet Volcanion there.) You can now go through the northern area gates in Bleak Beach, Withered Wasteland, or Rocky Ridges to reach Sparkling Skylands.
