How do I Wall Jump?

To wall jump in Super Metroid, spin jump against a wall, tap the direction away from the wall, and then press the jump button soon after.

How do I use Special Beam Attacks?

You can use special beam attacks after you get Power Bombs in Brinstar. To do so, press START to pause the game, then press R to go to the status screen. In the status screen, you need to enable charge beam, and disable all but one of your other types of beams. For example, enable only charge beam and spazer. Then press START to close the pause screen, and press SELECT to choose Power Bombs. Then, while NOT rolled into a ball, hold the attack button to charge up your beam. When it is fully charged, one of your Power Bombs will be consumed, and you will be surrounded by a special beam shield that can hit enemies around you. The type of shield depends on which beam you have selected.

How do I Shinespark?

You can Shinespark after you obtain the Speed Booster in Norfair. Hold the Dash button (usually set to B) to run. If you run uninterrupted for a long enough time, you will Speed Boost. Crouch while Speed Boosting and you will start flashing. You can then press the jump button to execute a Shinespark straight upward. For instructions on how to Shinespark in other directions, see the next sections. If your health is 30 or higher, you will take damage until the Shinespark ends.

Diagonal Shinespark

When flashing, you can hold the "aim diagonally upward" button (usually set to R) to do a diagonal Shinespark in the direction you're facing.

Horizontal Shinespark While on the Ground

When flashing, you can do a horizontal Shinespark while on the ground by pressing and holding the jump button and then immediately pressing left or right.

Horizontal Shinespark from Mid-Air

To do a horizontal mid-air Shinespark, first do a Speed Boost and crouch, then spin jump while flashing, then while spinning, press up or aim diagonally to start the Shinespark, then before you Shinespark upward from this position, hold left or right and press jump.

Downward Not Possible

It is not possible to do a downward Shinespark.

What is the maximum number of Missiles, Super Missiles, and Power Bombs that Samus can carry?

If you obtain 100% of all of the upgrade tanks in the game, Samus can carry a maximum of 230 Missiles, 50 Super Missiles, and 50 Power Bombs.

How do I Use Reserve Tanks?

After you get Reserve Tanks, you can fill them by collecting health orbs when you are at full health. Then you can press START and then R to go to the status screen, where you can set the Reserve Tanks to auto or manual. If it is set to auto, the Reserve Tanks will automatically restore your health if your health reaches 0. The amount of restored health depends on the amount of health stored in the Reserve Tanks. If you set the Reserve Tanks to Manual, you can go to the status screen and choose "Reserve Tank" to manually restore your health from the Reserve Tanks. Again, the amount of restored health depends on the amount of health stored in the Reserve Tanks.

How do I Space Jump?

To use the Space Jump, first do a spin jump (i.e. jump at an angle), then press the jump button again after you have started to descend, but before you reach maximum falling speed. If you did it correctly, you will stop falling and will move upward while continuing to spin. You can repeat this as many times as needed, as long as you don't wait too long to press the jump button again as you fall. If you are underwater, you have a longer amount of time to press the jump button before you reach maximum falling speed.

Keep in mind that if you are up against a wall and try to jump at an angle against that wall, you won't spin jump. You need to have some space between you and the wall to be able to spin jump.
