Post Title: Dromiceiomimus.

If you have ever read Dinosaur Comics, you might know that the small dinosaur next to the car and house in the third panel that T-rex talks to is called Dromiceiomimus.
That’s quite a word! You might have wondered how to pronounce it. Here is how (put the emphasis on the syllables that are written with all capital letters):
draw MEE see oh MIME us.
This is what Wikipedia has to say about Dromiceiomimus. The weird name means “emu mimic.” In other words, this dinosaur was a lot like the modern emu. It actually had a beak!

Post Title: Chess to Impress.

I set up a chess board on my desk at work yesterday. Nobody touched it, but people did ask me about it. I made a first move, but nobody offered to make the next.
Then when I came into work this morning, someone had made a first move! I do not know who it was…. It is a mystery opponent! It might be someone from the office who wants to remain mysterious, or it might be a janitor person who comes at night to clean things up. Either way, I hope that the person will make a move for tomorrow….
