This page explains how to trade from Pokémon White 2 to Pokémon Shining Pearl.
What You Need
To send pokémon from Pokémon White 2 to Pokémon Shining Pearl, you need a Nintendo 3DS with Pokémon Bank installed, and a Nintendo Switch with Pokémon Home installed, and an active Pokémon Home Premium Plan subscription.
In-Game Requirements
Before you can trade from Pokémon White 2 to Pokémon Shining Pearl:
- In Pokémon White 2, you need to defeat the Elite Four and enter the Hall of Fame, then go to the PokéTransfer Lab on Route 15.
- In Pokémon Shining Pearl, you need to have the Pokédex.
How to Trade
Make sure that your Nintendo 3DS has wireless turned on and can connect to the Internet.
Get your Pokémon Ready to Transfer
If your copy of Pokémon White 2 is on a cartridge, put the cartridge into your Nintendo 3DS. Open the game, choose the pokémon that you want to transfer, then move them to Box 1 in your PC Box. If there are any pokémon in PC Box 1 that you do not want to transfer, move them to a different box in your PC Box. Save the game, then go back to the 3DS home screen.
Download/Update Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter
If you don't have Pokémon Bank, go to Pokémon Bank in the eShop. You can use the Nintendo 3DS camera and tap the QR code button to scan the following QR Code to go to the Pokémon Bank page in the eShop.

Then open Pokémon Bank. If you are prompted for your password, enter it and sign in.
It is no longer possible to purchase a new Pokémon Bank Pass, because it is no longer possible to add funds to Nintendo 3DS. If your Pokémon Bank Pass has expired, choose No when prompted to purchase a new pass.
Pokémon Bank will become available at no cost on March 27, 2023. You can still move Pokémon from Pokémon Bank back into Pokémon White 2 without a valid pass, so you may wish to do this to ensure that they do not get deleted. You will be able to move them back into Pokémon Bank starting on March 27, 2023.
Use Pokémon Bank
If this is the first time that you have used Pokémon Bank, Brigette will introduce herself. She explains that you can't store held items in the Pokémon Bank, so they will be sent back to the Bag if you store pokémon in the Bank. But if the Bag is full, the item will disappear.
After Brigette finishes her explanation, a menu will appear. If you don't have Poké Transporter, Choose "Download Poké Transporter". There will be a message explaning what Poké Transporter is. Choose Download. The game will ask if it is OK to go to the eShop. Choose Yes. If you are prompted for your password, enter it and sign in. Tap the "Tap Here to Download" button. Poké Transporter is free. Tap Next, then tap Download. You can choose to Download Now or Download Later.
If you do have Poké Transporter but you need to update it, go to the eShop and choose Menu at the top-left, then scroll down and choose Settings/Other, then scroll down and choose Updates. If there is an update for Poké Transporter, it will be listed on this screen.
Use Poké Transporter
Go to the home screen and open Poké Transporter. If this is the first time that you have used it, it will explain that if the pokémon in Pokémon White 2 are holding any items, those items will go back to your bag in Pokémon White 2.

If you want to transfer ALL the pokémon from your PC Box 1 in Pokémon White 2 to the Pokémon Bank, choose Yes.
