This page explains how to trade from Pokémon Go to Pokémon Sword.
What You Need
To send pokémon from Pokémon Go to Pokémon Sword, you need a smartphone with Pokémon Go installed, and a Nintendo Switch with Pokémon Home installed.
Before you can trade from Pokémon Go to Pokémon Sword:
- In Pokémon Go, you need to link Pokémon GO to your Nintendo Switch (see below for instructions).
- In Pokémon Sword, you need to have the Pokédex.
How to Trade
Download Pokémon Home for Smartphone
To transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Go to Pokémon Sword, first you need to download Pokémon Home to the smartphone where you have installed Pokémon Go. See below for download links.
Link Smartphone Pokémon Home to your Nintendo Account
Follow the instructions in the smartphone version of Pokémon Home to link it to your Nintendo Account.
Link Pokémon Go to your Nintendo Account
In Pokémon Go, go to Settings and choose Pokémon Home, then log into the Nintendo Account that you linked to Pokémon Home.
Send Pokémon to Pokémon Home
In Pokémon Go, from the Pokémon Home option in Settings, choose Send Pokémon. You can optionally pay coins to charge your Pokémon Home Transporter. When you are ready, select Continue.
Choose the pokémon that you want to send to Pokémon Home, then choose Next. THIS IS A ONE-WAY TRANSFER! POKÉMON SENT TO POKÉMON HOME CANNOT BE SENT BACK TO POKÉMON GO! If you are ready, and if your Pokémon Home Transporter has enough energy, choose Transport to send the Pokémon to Pokémon Home.
Download Pokémon Home for Nintendo Switch
Go to the Nintendo eShop on the Nintendo Switch and search for Pokémon Home, then download it.
Move Pokémon from Pokémon Home to Pokémon Sword
In Pokémon Home on the Nintendo Switch, choose the Pokémon button, then choose Pokémon Sword from the list of games, and choose Yes to confirm.
You can then move pokémon from the Pokémon Home box to your boxes in Pokémon Sword.
