This page explains how to trade from Pokémon Go to Pokémon Go.

What You Need

Each player needs a smartphone with Pokémon GO installed, and both players need an Internet connection.

Please make sure that your cartridges are genuine Nintendo products! Counterfeit games might not be able to trade. For more information, including contact information for reporting bootlegs, visit Nintendo's anti-piracy web page.

In-Game Requirements

Before you can trade from Pokémon Go to Pokémon Go, both players need to be on each other's friends list (see below for instructions).

How to Trade

To trade with another Pokémon GO player, both players need to be nearby.

Add Other Player to Friends List

From the map, tap your player portrait in the bottom-left corner of the screen, then tap Friends in the upper-right of the screen. Tap Add Friend, then enter the other player's Trainer Code, or tap QR Code in the upper right to scan the other player's QR code (Pokémon GO needs permission to access your device's camera to use this feature).

Trade Pokémon

After adding your friend to your Friends List, choose your friend from the list, then choose Trade With (Player). To continue, the other player should accept the trade. Then you can choose one of your pokémon to trade. After you choose a pokémon, tap Next. After the other player has chosen a pokémon to trade, choose Confirm to trade your pokémon.
