EVE Online Agent Standing

How much standing do you need for an agent to become available to you? This article will explain the details.

The Agent Availability Formula

Required Standing = ((Level - 1) * 2) + (Quality / 20)

The formula above will tell you what standing you are required to have in order to be able to access an agent with the given level and quality. Agent levels range from 1 to 4, and quality can be between -20 and 20.

In order to have any available agents in a corporation, your standing has to be at least -1.

To use a level 5, level 20 agent in the game (see a list of the best agents in the finding an agent article), you would need a standing of 9. However, at the time I am writing this, I don't know of any such agents in the game. The highest level and quality agents I know of are level 5, quality 19.

Each increase of agent level and quality requires a 0.05 higher standing than the level before. So a level 1, quality 0 agent requires 0 standing, but a level 1, quality 1 agent requires 0.05.

Note that the required standing that I am talking about is the effective standing with the agent himself or herself; not the corporation or faction standing.

Agent Effective Standing Formula

The effective standing of an agent is calculated as follows.

Effective Standing = (Your corporation standing) + ((10 - (Your corporation standing) * (0.04 * ( (Connections Skill Level OR Diplomacy Skill Level))))

If your corporation standing is less than 0.0, the formula uses your diplomacy skill level. Otherwise, it uses the connections skill level.

Agent Effective Quality Formula

An agent's effective quality depends on your Negotiation skill and the agent's effective standing.

Effective Quality = (Agent Quality) + (5 * (Negotiation Skill Level)) + (Agent Effective Standing)
