Route 20: Winding Woods

After you reach Snowbelle City, you learn that the gym leader, Wulfric, has gone to the Winding Woods.

Route Information

You can reach this route by using the southwest exit of Snowbelle City.

To find everything here, bring a pokémon that knows Cut. There is no Pokémon Center in the path ahead, so you should also bring a pokémon that knows Surf to explore the next area, and you might want to bring a pokémon that knows Fly so you can return to Snowbelle City without having to go all the way back through the woods.

In the later part of the Winding Woods, some of the exits don't always send you to the same place. The directions below will reflect that.

Wild Pokémon

The wild pokémon that you might encounter in this route are Jigglypuff, Noctowl, Amoongus, Gothorita, Trevenant, and in rare cases, Zoroark. You may also encounter hordes with Amoongus, Foongus, or Trevenant.

Mossy Rock

In the first area of the Winding Woods, there is a Mossy Rock surrounded by grass. If you level up an Eevee in the grass around this rock, the Eevee will evolve into Leafeon.

Explore

From this first area of the Winding Woods, use the west exit. From there, go north to find a Kasib Berry tree.

In this same area, get the Paralyze Heal that is east of the berry tree.

Now exit this area with the southeast exit to return to the area with the Mossy Rock. Go south from the Mossy Rock and use the exit there.

In this new area, go south through the grass and use the southern exit. Go east from there to get a Meadow Plate. Then use the north exit to go back to the previous area.

From here, go west through the grass and use the west exit. In the next area, you can have a double battle with Twins Nana & Nina. They have a level 53 Slurpuff and a level 53 Aromatisse.

Go west and use the south exit. Poké Fan Roisin is south of the tree. She has a level 51 Snubbull and a level 53 Granbull.

Use the Dowsing Machine near Poké Fan Roisin to find a hidden Antidote on the front of the tree.

Use the north exit, then continue going north to use the north exit near the twins.

To the left, Fairy Tale Girl Wynne is running around. She has a level 52 Klefki and a level 52 Azumarill.

The east exit from this area goes to a dead end, but there is an Advanced Tips sign there, so check that out if you want to.

Use the west exit from the area where the Fairy Tale Girl is running around. Use Cut on the prickly tree that is in the way. Poké Fan Corey is in this area. He has a level 54 Dedenne.

In the middle of some red flowers, you find a Protein.

Turn on your Dowsing Machine to find a hidden Repeat Ball in the southwest corner of the red flower area.

Go east to exit the area, then use the south exit nearby. Go south again, past a tree, and use the south exit.

If you don't feel like collecting all of the items in the forest, just go south and then west to reach Pokémon Village.

Otherwise, use the east exit. You might end up in a dead end with a tree, or in a crossroads, or you might simply end up in the same area that you just left. Keep going east until you reach the dead end with the tree. Use the Dowsing Machine to find the hidden Mental Herb on the front of the tree.

Now go west. If there is a path to the north, go east until you reach the dead end with the tree, then go west. Keep doing that until you reach an area with no north path. Use the Dowsing Machine there to find a hidden Tiny Mushroom on an area where no grass is growing.

From there, go south and use the south exit. Go west to find some stairs. Go up the stairs and turn on the Dowsing Machine to find a hidden Balm Mushroom on a spot where there is no grass.

Go west from there and get the X Accuracy that is sitting out in the open.

Go east and then down the stairs. Go southwest and use Cut on the prickly tree in the way. Keep going west and use the west exit. You'll reach an area with Hex Maniac Desdemona, who has a level 54 Trevenant.

Go west from Desdemona to get TM53 Energy Ball.

Now go east. If you end up in a narrow path with no north exit, go west to return to where you found the TM, then go east again. Keep doing that until you reach an area that has a north exit. Instead of using that north exit, you should go south. The path turns west to a sunny exit. Use that exit to reach the Pokémon Village.
